1. Writing a Post

Keep your audience informed by publishing updates on your channel home, ensuring KakaoTalk users receive new stories. Engage your audience with photos, videos, links, coupons, and card views.

1-1. Writing a Post

➊ Content You can enter a title and body, but the title is optional. You can publish posts without text if they include at least one attachment: a photo, video, link, coupon, or card view.

➋ Media Attachment You can attach only one type of media per post: photo, video, link, coupon, or card view.

➌ Post Upload

  • Now : The post is uploaded immediately when you click Upload.

  • Save as Draft : Store the post as a draft for future editing.

  • Schedule : Set a post to be uploaded anytime between 30 minutes and 30 days from now. Up to 30 scheduled posts can be stored at once.

➍ Age-Restricted Upload Posts will remain hidden until age verification is complete. Only users aged 20 and older can view the content. If the content is suitable only for adults, this option must be selected.

Posts containing restricted material as per the Channel Operation Guidearrow-up-right cannot be uploaded. If age verification is not applied, service restrictions may be imposed based on operational policies.

❺ Message-Only Upload Restrict post visibility to users who received it via message.

  • Message-only posts are accessible only through chat messages and do not have a shareable URL.

  • Users cannot share the post. (Only likes and comments)

  • These posts will not be displayed in the Updates tab.

❻ Disable Comments Enable this option to turn off comments for the post.

➐ Private Upload Enable this option to keep your post private.

  • Only the channel admin can access private posts, and they do not have a shareable URL.

  • Users cannot share private posts.

  • These posts will not be displayed in the Updates tab.

  • Private posts cannot be included in channel messages.

➑ Story Channel Upload Enable this option to share the post on a linked Story Channel at the same time. Changes made after publishing will not sync to the Story Channel and must be updated manually.

1-2. Attaching Photos

➊ Title & Content When attaching a photo, the title and written contents are optional.

➋ Attaching Photos

  • Your can upload up to 40 photos per post. Only one GIF can be attached per post.

  • File size limits: 20MB (photo), 3MB (GIF)

  • Drag and drop to reorder photos.

  • Images with extreme aspect ratios (panoramic or poster-style) may be cropped.

  • Images exceeding a 1:4 vertical ratio cannot be uploaded. Avoid uploading webtoon-style or excessively long images, as they may be cropped.

➌ Captions Add a caption of up to 80 characters to describe the photo. Click Register to save the caption.

1-3. Attaching Videos

➊ Title & Content When attaching a video, the title and written contents are optional.

➋ Attaching Videos

  • Only one video can be attached per post.

  • The system automatically generates a thumbnail, allowing you to choose from six extracted images.

  • Uploaded videos are automatically made public on KakaoTV. The visibility settings can be changed on KakaoTV.

  • Check copyright permissions before uploading a video.

➊ Entering URL Entering a URL automatically retrieves a thumbnail, title, and content preview. To update the URL, enter a new address and press Enter. Click "X" on the right to remove links.

➋ Changing Thumbnail All images provided through the webpage’s OG tags are loaded, allowing you to select a preferred thumbnail. You can also upload a custom image instead. Thumbnail retrieval may vary based on the webpage's image size and the user’s operating system. Click "X" on the right to remove thumbnails.

➌ Editing Title & Content Click the pencil icon to edit the title and text. A title must be included.

1-5. Attaching Coupons

➊ Coupon Board

  • Displays a list of coupons attached to the post.

  • Up to 20 coupons can be attached.

  • Drag and drop the reorder icon on the left to adjust the coupon order.

  • Click Delete on the right to remove a coupon.

➋ Adding Coupons Click Add Coupon to attach additional coupons beyond those already added.

1-6. Attaching Card Views

➊ Basic/Coupon Type Choose between "Basic" or "Coupon" and create up to 40 cards.

➋ Attaching Photos

  • Each Card View can have one photo in either square or vertical format. (File size limit: up to 20MB per photo)

  • Square photos should have a 1:1 ratio (at least 720 x 720 px).

  • Photos exceeding this ratio will be cropped from the center. GIFs are supported but will be displayed with blank margins on all sides. (File size limit: up to 7MB)

  • Vertical photos should have a 3:4 ratio (at least 720 x 960 px). Photos exceeding this ratio will be cropped from the top. GIFs are not supported for vertical photos.

➌ Title & Content You can enter a title and content. URLs can also be added.

➍ Button Settings Buttons can link to a website or phone number. URLs containing Korean characters may not work properly. (If necessary, convert them to shortened URLs before use)

Once a Card View post is uploaded, it will function as follows: Card View that allow users to swipe through different content with ease.

2. Posts

2-1. Managing Posts

In the Channel Admin Center, you can view and manage posts you’ve created, as well as comments left by users on your KakaoTalk Home. Use the Pin feature to keep important posts at the top of your Channel Home for better visibility.

➊ Post Board

  • Uploaded Posts : Displays all posts currently visible on your Channel Home.

  • Drafts & Scheduled Posts : View posts that are either saved as drafts or set for future uploads.

➋ Function Icons

  • Pin : Marks a post as pinned, keeping it at the top of your Channel Home.

  • Analytics : Click to view post statistics.

  • More : Access additional options, including Pin/Unpin, Edit, Delete, and Copy URL.

➌ Post Content

  • Text content up to 2,000 characters can be viewed in full.

  • Up to five photos appear in the feed. Click a photo to view all attached images.

  • Card View posts can be swiped through to see all attached cards.

  • Click the timestamp at the top of the post to open its detailed view.

➍ Comment Board Comments appear in the order they were written. Comments appear under the channel name. However, threaded replies and mentions (tags) are not supported.

2-2. Promoting Posts

You can copy the post URL and share it externally. Use URLs to share your content beyond KakaoTalk, including on external platforms.

➊ Copying a URL

  • Copy a post's URL to share it on social media, websites, and other external platforms.

  • Clicking the shared URL will open the post’s web page.

  • Users can click "View in App" on the web page to open the post in KakaoTalk.

2-3. Photo Viewer / Card Viewer

When a post contains photos or Card Views, selecting an individual photo or card will open a viewer. This lets users view content in full without opening the detailed post view.

➊ Image Viewer Users can explore individual photos and Card Views in the viewer. The UI closely resembles how the content appears in KakaoTalk. Review your content to ensure it displays correctly before publishing.

3. Blocking Comments

View and manage comments left by KakaoTalk users on your posts. Hover over a comment to block users who repeatedly leave harmful comments.

➊ Deleting Comments Hover over a comment to access the delete option.

➋ Blocking Users To block a user who repeatedly leaves harmful comments, hover over their comment and select Block. Once blocked, their future comments will no longer be visible to other users. Blocked users will still see their own comments as if they were visible to everyone. To unblock a user, hover over one of their comment and select Unblock.

4. Editing Posts

You can edit an uploaded post at any time to fix typos or replace incorrect images. However, GIFs, videos, and links cannot be edited once added.

➊ Editing Title & Content You can edit the title and written contents of any post type.

➋ Editing Attachments Modify attachments by deleting photos, adding new ones, rearranging their order, and updating captions, just like when creating a post. You can also edit or delete Card Views. GIFs, videos, and links cannot be modified.

➌ Editing Upload Time You cannot change the time of uploaded posts or drafts. You can adjust the upload time of scheduled posts, but only within 30 days of the originally time.
