1. Analytics

Gain insights into your operational direction through detailed statistics on profiles, posts, messages, chats, friends, etc. The criteria for data aggregation are provided in the help sections of each page.

1-1. Analytics Report

Refer to your channel’s weekly/monthly performance metrics to operate the channel more effectively. The criteria for data aggregation are provided in the help sections of each page.

➊ Business Performance You can check key performance metrics, including: number of channel friends, message impressions, profile views, post views, number of chat requests, clicks on chat menus, number of coupon entries, and the growth rate compared to previous periods. The growth rate will not be displayed if the previous period's data is 0, as it is impossible to calculate.

➋ Friend Statistics: Number of Channel Friends Check the total number of friends and their growth trends during selected period.

➌ Friend Statistics: Channel Addition Date Check the proportion of friends based on how long they have been following the channel. (This is calculated as the difference between the last date of each report and the date the user added the channel.)

➍ Friend Statistics: Gender and Age of Friends Check the gender and age distribution of your channel friends. This statistics is available only when the number of channel friends is 11 or more.

➎ Friend Statistics: Location of Friends Check the regional distribution of your channel friends. This statistics is available only when the number of channel friends is 11 or more.

➏ Friend Statistics: Friend Retention Rate Check how many users who added the channel during a specific period remain as friends over time. The retention rate for each time period indicates the percentage of users who added the channel and remained friends until the end of the nth week or month.

➐ Message Statistics: Message Sending Performance Check the total number of messages sent, impressions, and clicks during the reporting period. Impressions are counted once per message view per user (i.e., repeated views by the same user are not counted). Clicks are counted each time a user clicks, regardless of repeats.

➑ Message Statistics: Sending Trends Check the distribution of messages sent by day of the week and time of day. Messages sent between 9 PM and 7 AM are excluded from statistics.

2. Channel Promotion

Are you ready to start managing your channel? Use the promotional tools provided in the Channel Promotion menu to introduce your channel on social media, websites, blogs, and other platforms where customers engage.

➊ Channel URL

  • Channel Home URL : Links to your channel's home page

  • News URL : Links to your channel's news feed

  • Coupon URL : Links to your list of available coupons

  • Chat URL : Links to your channel's chatrooms

  • Channel Addition URL : Opens a pop-up for adding your channel as a friend

PC: Users can log in with their Kakao account to add the channel or send chat requests Mobile: Users are redirected to KakaoTalk, where they can add the channel or send chat requests

➋ QR Code

  • Simple QR : A QR code (600 x 612 px) that includes the channel name, which can be used immediately after download. (File format: PNG)

  • For Printing : QR codes in multiple sizes (50 x 50 px / 350 x 350 px / 600 x 600 px )for insertion into promotional materials. (File format: PNG)

➌ Creating Promotional Materials You can download a basic banner and print materials that include your channel name. A double sized version of the banner is also available for download.

➍ Customizing Promotional Materials If you have access to design tools, you can create custom promotional materials. Download the design guide, fonts, and AI files, and create your own promotional tools following the provided guidelines.

➎ Add Channel and Chat Buttons By inserting the JavaScript code into your web page, you can display "Add Friend" and "Chat" buttons on websites, blogs, and other platforms.

➏ Growing Friends With Ads Effectively grow your channel's friend list through advertising. When you run friend-growing ads, your channel will be displayed in various areas of KakaoTalk. For more details, please refer to "Learn About Growing Friends With Ads."

3. Management

3-1. Friend Group Management

You can create friend groups and send targeted messages to those groups. There are multiple ways to create groups based on customer information, including groups who have received messages or participated in certain events.

➊ Create New Group Once the group is created, you can send messages to the members in that group. When creating a new group, please enter a group name and group description. Note that friend status information is not provided due to privacy protection regulations.

➋ Registration Method

  • Customer File

    By uploading customer information from your site, you can create friend groups based on various conditions extracted from the data. This allows for more targeted messaging.

    For more details, please refer to the Customer File Input Guidearrow-up-right and Customer File API Usage Guidearrow-up-right.

  • Directly Enter Phone Number (& Upload Phone Numbers Later)

    You can manually add phone numbers or upload a file to do so.

    You can add up to 5,000 phone numbers at a time, and a single group can have a maximum of 100,000 members.

  • Message Recipients

    You can create friend groups based on the recipients of a specific message.

    You can either "Designate" or "Exclude" groups to send messages that match the situation.

    Only messages that were registered within the last month and marked as sent, stopped, or immediately ended can be selected.

  • Event Participants

    You can create groups from people who participated in events like quizzes.

    You can create groups based on the options to use when sending targeted messages.

    Groups can be made for participants who joined from the day after the event until yesterday. Only events that ended within the last month are eligible for selection.

3-2. Administrator Management

You can view the list of administrators currently managing the channel and invite new administrators. A single channel can have up to 50 administrators managing in total. (However, there can only be 1 master and up to 49 managers.)

❶ Invite Administrator Click "+ Invite Administrator" and enter the Kakao account of the person you want to invite. Once invited, the user can log in to the Channel Admin Center using the Kakao account they were invited with. (We are preparing the feature to send invitation emails to the entered Kakao account.) Anyone can invite administrators, regardless of whether they have master or manager permissions. For channels affiliated with a business account, the business account master can manage administrators in the Business Manager Center. You can also manage administrators and modify their permissions after inviting them.

➋ Administrator Account You can view all administrators who are currently participating and those who are invited. Master and Manager administrators have the same functionalities, but only the master can remove managers. If you are a manager and no longer wish to manage the channel, you can click "Leave" to exit. 'To revoke an invitation, click "Cancel Invitation" next to the invited administrator. Administrators labeled as "Business Account" are managed by the business account master in the Business Admin Center. These are accounts granted permissions or associated with the business account as administrators.

3-3. Apply for Business Channel

You can verify that the channel you are operating represents a brand or business through a separate review process. By applying for a business channel, you can enjoy various additional benefits.

For Users Without Korean Business Registration Number, or for US-based business

  • If you do not have a Korean business registration number or a unique identification number, you can first create a general channel.

  • A general channel will display a notice indicating that business information has not been verified. Ensure you meet the requirements and submit the necessary documents to convert your channel into a business channel.

  • How to inquire about switching to a business channel for U.S.-based businesses • If you are contracted with an official Kakao agency in the U.S.: Contact your current official Kakao agency. • If you are using a non-official agency or do not have an agency: contact_ads@kakaocorp.com

Entering Business Information

1) Apply for Business Channel

➊ Apply for Business Channel Click "Apply" to begin the business channel application process. Only the channel master can submit the application for a business channel. (Managers can only check the progress of the application, but cannot apply.)

➋ Required Documents for Business Channel Application The required documents for the business channel application depend on the applicant's relationship with the business. Please review and prepare the appropriate documents accordingly. - Representative of a Sole Proprietorship: Business Registration Certificate (Electronic Certificate) - Representative of a Corporate Business: Business Registration Certificate (Paper) + Representative's Mobile Phone Authentication - Employee: Business Registration Certificate (Paper), Health Insurance Eligibility Confirmation Certificate + Health Insurance Eligibility Notification (Electronic Certificate) - Channel Management Agency: Service Agreement (Paper), Agency Business Registration Certificate (Paper), Advertiser Business Registration Certificate (Paper) In addition, you may need to provide specific permits depending on your type of business. Please refer to the License Guidearrow-up-right and prepare accordingly.

2) Enter Business Information

➊ Retrieve Business Registration Number Enter the business registration number and click the search button to retrieve the number for business channel review.

➋ Enter Business Information The information associated with the retrieved business registration number will be displayed. If the retrieved business information does not match the details on your business registration certificate, update the latest information in Kakao Businessarrow-up-right first. If you have a business registration number but no stored business information in Kakao, you can manually enter the details.

➌ Confirm Applicant Relationship and Attach Required Documents

  • Please select the applicant relationship and attach the required documents.

  • Ensure that the submitted documents match the business information entered above.

  • Please mask personal information such as resident registration number, email address, and phone numbers in the attached documents.

  • Supported file formats include JPG, JPEG, PNG, and PDF, with a maximum file size of 100MB.

  • Verify that the resolution is sufficient and that no part of the image is cut off.

➍ Attach Industry-Specific Documents

  • If the business requires specific licensing or registration, attach the necessary documents.

  • Supported file formats include JPG, JPEG, PNG, and PDF, with a maximum file size of 100MB.

  • Verify that the resolution is sufficient and that no part of the image is cut off.

Click Next Once you've entered all required information and attached the necessary documents, click "Next" to proceed with the next steps of the business channel review application.

3) Confirm Information for Review Request

➊ Confirm Information for Review Request In this step, you'll verify that the business information entered in the previous stage matches the information associated with the channel for which you are applying for the business channel review.

➋ Channel Information & Business Information Double check that the channel information matches the business information.

➌ Enter Reference Material and Attach Reference Documents If, due to unavoidable reasons, the business name and channel name are different, please provide an explanation or reason with any relevant supporting documents.

  • You can enter an explanation of up to 300 characters.

  • Attach relevant image materials such as store photos, transfer documents, etc.

  • These documents and materials, including website and location details, will be considered during the business channel review.

➍ Apply for Business Channel Once you have confirmed all the information is accurate, check the checkbox to confirm. Click "Apply" to complete your business channel application. The business channel review will approximately take 3 to 5 business days. (Please note that this may vary depending on circumstances.)

4) Business Channel Review Process

➊ Business Channel Review Process After applying, you can monitor the status of your review. Once the review is complete or rejected, the results will be notified via the Channel Admin Center or KakaoTalk.

➋ Reapplication of Review If your business channel review is rejected, you can reapply. If you have already been approved for a business channel and made changes through Kakao Business, a re-evaluation will be required. Only the master can reapply for the business channel review.

5) Reapplying for Business Channel

➊ Reason for Rejection If your business channel review is rejected, carefully review the rejection reasons. All rejection reasons must be addressed before reapplying. After reapplying, the review period will approximately take 3 to 5 business days. (Please note that this may vary.)

If you choose to abandon the review, the submitted materials will be immediately discarded and the review will be reset, allowing you to apply for the business channel review again in the future without penalties.

➋ Submitted Documents

You can review the documents you have previously submitted and make any necessary edits or add new ones. Please be aware that documents may be discarded if the submission period exceeds 30 days.

3-4. History & Notifications

Are multiple administrators managing your channel? If so, you can track the individual activity history of each administrator and stay updated on key events through History and Notifications.

➊ History The History section displays the activity history of all administrators in reverse chronological order. You can filter the history by menu or by individual administrator.

➋ Notifications The Notifications section allows you to check updates from friends and other administrators in one place, such as when a new comment is posted or when another administrator writes a new post.
