Ad Serving Standards & Compliance
The Ad Serving Standards and Compliance requirements for Kakao Global Display Ads are as follows.
Ad Serving Eligibility
All ads must comply with relevant laws and the Ad Review Guide, as well as the local laws and regulations of all targeted regions.
Matters not specified in the Ad Review Guide must also comply with local laws, regulations, or related rules, and advertisers bear full responsibility. Advertisers must also ensure that targeting settings such as age, gender, and region comply with the laws and social standards of all regions where ads are served.
The site must clearly reflect the content related to the ad creative.
According to the Ad Review Guide and the Terms of Use, certain advertisers may be restricted from ad serving.
Even after the ad is served, if the Ad Review Guide or legal requirements are not met, the ad may be suspended.
Ads that may cause social controversy or receive user complaints may be restricted.
Ad Review
Kakao determines the eligibility of ads based on its ad policies and system logic. However, if any violation of relevant laws or the Ad Review Guide is identified, Ad serving may be limited, or you may be asked to modify the ad creative.
Ad review is conducted based on the ad creative and landing page, and advertisers must guarantee the legality and authenticity of the information provided.
Kakao may ask you to submit documents during the ad review process if needed. If the submitted documents are deemed inadequate, ad serving may be restricted.
Even after approval, if any violation of the guide is found in the content of the ad creative, connection screens, or sites, modification of the ad creative may be required, and ad serving may be suspended or service usage may be restricted.
In cases involving sexual content, discomfort, fear, violence, incitement of hatred, or hate speech, it may be difficult to provide specific guidelines, which can result in variations in the review outcome.
Review results may vary depending on the placement (i.e., exposure location), size, type, and method of expression within the ad creative.
The review may include checking the consistency between the information entered by the advertiser and the actual information, verifying documents by industry, and reviewing other matters specified by the policy.
Approval does not guarantee or certify that the ad creative, connection screens, or sites fully comply with relevant laws, the Ad Review Guide, the Production Guide, or the Terms of Use. If relevant laws or guides are not followed, Kakao may request suspension or modification of the ad, and the advertiser is responsible for any resulting disadvantages.
Prohibited Advertising Activities
If any of the following actions are identified, ad serving may be restricted or suspended.
Engaging in or inducing actions that violate Kakao's ad policies or relevant laws;
Accessing and using the service through methods not provided by Kakao;
Distorting or fraudulently generating advertising performance, such as clicks and impressions;
Altering approved ad creatives or connection screens without review after approval;
Repeatedly registering identical or similar ads that negatively affect platform quality;
Displaying ads that harm or are likely to harm Kakao by damaging its interests or reputation;
Any other actions that Kakao deems to interfere with the use of the service.
